At Easter in High Kirk, we always try to create a sense of celebration and occasion, by joining together into one morning service with a separate children’s programme.
On Good Friday, we had a more contemplative service at 8.00 pm which included meditative music and the sacrament of Communion as we particularly remembered that Jesus was “wounded for us”.
Easter Sunday morning was one service at 10.30 am with a separate children’s programme in the hall. This service was crammed full and was a great celebration of the resurrection. Our theme this year was based on John 20 v 27: Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” The sermon, music and visuals elaborated on this theme with“hands” featured strongly.
Easter Sunday evening had a youth input with Andrew Dickson speaking and young people from Ignite leading us in worship.
Here are some photos from the morning and evening services.
