Living the Cross Centred LifeStudies in 1 Peter: Living the Cross Centred Life
It is a letter full of important beliefs to be lived out in real life, sometimes in the context of real suffering. Faith, patience and obedience are recurring themes. But at the centre of Peter’s life and of his writing is the cross – it shapes his thinking and we must allow it to shape the life of the church today especially as we are faced with an increasingly secular, materialistic and God rejecting world. The cross defines us as a believing people. It is where we start and where we end. It is where we die to self and come to life in God. We are sprinkled, redeemed, healed, energised by the cross. May Peter inspire us to live the cross centred life. |

From September 2008 Norman will be leading our thoughts on Sunday mornings through this powerful letter of 1 Peter. The letter covers all matters of Christian life and practice and some have suggested that it was a manual for membership in the early church.
