SUMMARY:Discovering your God-Given gifts – What career or ministry suits you best
DESCRIPTION:Jeremiah 20:12 tells us that God sees our minds and our hearts. Because He was involved in our formation\, He knows that we are different to one another. \nWe’ve already seen how these gifts God has given us motivate the way we see and respond to the world around us\, and they also determine the things we enjoy and love doing. After all\, who doesn’t enjoy doing something that we’re good at?  \nAs we discover our gifts\, we will understand how certain ministries within the church – and even careers – are best suited to us when we use the gift God has given us. That doesn’t mean that they cannot be used in all areas of ministry. Nor should we use the knowledge of our gift be an excuse not to be involved in other areas of ministry.   \nWhatever your gift might be\, it should never prevent us from being compassionate to one another\, or offer resources if we are able. But we will feel the greatest satisfaction and accomplishment when we are doing the things God has designed us to love doing.

SUMMARY:Discovering your God-Given gifts – Why do you think and act the way you do
DESCRIPTION:In Romans 12:6-8\, Paul tells us that God has given each of us a gift\, which the Amplified Bible also translates as ‘talent’ or ‘quality’\, and Peter writes in his first letter that we should use these for the benefit of others and for God’s glory (1 Peter 4:10). \nThe free will that God has given us means that we can choose to use them in this way\, neglect them or even use them for selfish gain. These gifts were not an afterthought for God. He gave them to us when He fearfully and wonderfully formed us in our mothers’ wombs and have been a part of our character throughout our own lives\, revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. \nLike coloured or tinted sunglasses will colour the way we see the world\, these gifts influence the way we see and respond to the world and people around us. They motivate our natural responses in situations\, and we find the opportunity to use them meaningful and fulfilling. \nThat’s why we refer to them as ‘Motivational Gifts’\, because they are the motivation\, or driving force\, behind the way we see and interact with the world around us.

SUMMARY:Discovering your God-Given Gifts – Not Just Another Course
DESCRIPTION:Rowan and Joanne will be running this course for four weeks starting Monday\, 19 September 2022 in The Oasis.  You are right if you thought it was a course\, but this is not just another course! There is no reading\, no work to do\, just attend. \nThis course will not only help you find out what your gift is\, it will also help you understand how to use it in all the areas of your life like in church\, in your relationships\, or even your job. It will help you understand why you see things differently or feel fulfilled in different ways to other people in the church\, even in your own family. \nBut using your gift should not be a chore\, rather it’s a fulfilment of the gift God gave you!  He has given us something so wonderfully unique that our own individual gift will bring us joy as we use it\, and more importantly\, it will draw us closer to God.  Even better\, as we all use our gifts\, they will complement each other even though they are all different. Just as Romans 12 verse 4 reminds us\, our gifts intertwine; one body with many members\, each with different functions. \nNo\, this is not just another course; this is the beginning of a new chapter and it’s right on our doorstep ready to be explored.
