Small groups at High Kirk come in many shapes and sizes. We call our small groups Life Groups and it is where people get an opportunity to be with each other in a more relaxed and informal setting, usually in a home. In a large church, it can be a lonely place and difficult to become involved however it is in these small groups, where friendships are built, that we are helped to find our place in the wider church family.
At High Kirk we have approximately 300 people in life groups and over the years we have seen so many benefits to being in one. When groups get together to study the bible and pray together there is many a chat over a cuppa and relationships are built up. It is this level of friendship which helps us to be better together and be an encouragement to each other. We can look out for each other and pray for each other.
When we are with our group of friends it is easier to be ourselves and ask questions during the bible study. It is sometimes easier to pray among a smaller group of friends rather in a larger church setting.
We would encourage you to ask about joining a life group. We can help you find a group that is right for you. They are fun and it is a lovely way to get to know others in the church and connect. We love it when we see each other grow in faith, discover the gifts God has given us and have an opportunity to use them. Wonderful !
