Gardiner are responsible for leading Ways ‘N’ Means, whether you are suffering from temporary depression,Â
assisted by Roberta and Colin Gourley. They care recuperating after surgery or illness or just simply
about each person and do what they can to support want out of the house for a few hours, learning
us. We meet on the second Monday of each month new skills amongst friendly faces!
from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Our problems vary in Check out the bulletin each month, pick out any of
nature and severity, but for two hours they seem less the varied activities that may interest you, speak to
important than the pleasure we derive from meeting me, any that come along or Colin and Roberta
together. We come, not to talk about our problems, Gourley and COME ALONG. GIVE IT A GO!Â
but to have fun.
We start the year by planning and decorating a Patricia Gardiner
window in the sanctuary for the annual Harvest
Thanksgiving service. Our love of God is what
unites us. After that our meetings are many and
varied. This past year we have been creative in
various ways. We had a painting class, resulting in
each of us having a framed landscape scene to take
home. We may not win prizes for our art, but we are
proud of what we achieve. We made Christmas
decorations for our homes out of leaves, twigs, ribbon
and baubles. Surprisingly, they looked lovely! We also
enjoyed making candles. We have played sports such
as Boccia and Kurling and board games, including
draughts and scrabble.
Guest speakers have joined us to share their
experiences. Food is always important to us. We enjoy
tea and coffee at every meeting, sometimes
accompanied by home baking. Our meetings are
enjoyable, whatever is planned for us, but what makes
this group special is that we care about each other.
Our final meeting this year could not have been
better. We went out for lunch and then sat outside
in glorious sunshine, drinking tea and coffee. What
could be more enjoyable? This group is always
pleased to greet new people, whether they come for
just one meeting or come regularly.
Why not join us?
