LORRAINE DEMPSEY
                        Playgroup Leader; Early Years
                        Specialist and Designated
                        Child Protection Officer.

I have had the privilege of working for 13 years with a team of ladies I enjoy working
alongside. Daily there are little gems of specialness working with the children. It is
especially rewarding and a blessing to participate and observe individual children’s
          development.

Over the thirteen years there have been an abundance of new children attending High
Kirk Community Playgroup and all, either after one year or two years of attendance,
leave an indelible imprint on my heart. For me planning and implementing the Pre-school
Curriculum with the support of Elaine, Kathryn, Donna and Hannah is a blessing. This is
particularly rewarding when parents, with two, three or four children, repeatedly entrust
their children into the care of the High Kirk Community Playgroup Team for their
          nurturing and pre-school education.

                        ELAINE WRAY
                        Playgroup Assistant Risk Assessor
                        and Deputy Designated
                        Child Protection Officer.

I have worked in High Kirk Community Playgroup for 15 years. I enjoy the interaction
with the children and parents and like the fact that no two days are the same and every
day brings a laugh at some stage; for example in January when the snow fell we had a
comment “ I can’t believe it, Christmas has finally arrived!”
I particularly enjoy reading with the children and stretching their imagination with role
play. Over the years I have benefitted from various training programmes, especially
around special educational needs. This has helped me to
better understand the children and help to develop
          their skills appropriately.
