India 2017

I first set foot on Indian soil 12 years We soon settled in and after a much
ago and I immediately fell in love with needed rest we met with Pastor Mark
the country. I knew that one day God and agreed our work schedule for
would permit me to go there for a the next 2 weeks. There is never a
longer period than 2 weeks and this shortage of work to do and this year
year He allowed me to fulfil my dream. we painted the kitchen, the playground
and offices. We also designed and
January as Norman puts it “is India built, thanks to the expertise of Uel,
time again” and on the 26 January a gazebo to shelter the children
seven weary, but excited travellers, from the sun during meal times.
arrived in Salsalu. For six of us it We also arranged, thanks to Albert’s
was a welcome return but for Bob generosity, to take the children away
Bramley it was his first time to take in for a night to the Fisherman’s Trust, a
the sights, the smells, the sounds and complex just outside Doddaballapura
the excitement of 54 children jumping where they could have fun and learn
up and down and smiling because more about Jesus.
their aunties and uncles were back.
Until you experience what India is like Many of the children in the home are
no words can describe how it makes orphans and others have parents who,
you feel. for whatever reason, cannot afford
to look after their children, hard to
understand until you visit India and
                                             witness the poverty and hardships
that are part of daily life for so many.
