Christmas/New Year Special Events
happening at High Kirk
Please continue to join us at our 9.30 am and 11.30 am services as we celebrate the season of Advent
on Sunday 27 November and Sunday 4, 11 and 18 December. Each week we will light another one of
our special Advent candles and will also open one of our Advent boxes.
Sunday 4 December 6.30 pm: Family & Community Carol Service
Get your Christmas jumpers on and join us for this family-friendly service! We will be exploring the
Christmas story afresh with songs, readings and stories. We are also looking forward to welcoming
back the choirs from Dunclug and St Brigid’s Primary Schools.
Wednesday 7 December 8.00 pm: Christmas Sanctuary (Reflective Prayer and Worship)
Join us for this special evening of prayer and worship as we take time out in the busyness of the
Christmas season to reflect on the heart of Christmas.
Sunday 18 December 6.30 pm: High Kirk Carol Service
We gather as a church family to celebrate the birth of Jesus with familiar readings and songs.
Our special Christmas choir will be leading us in worship. Remember to enjoy some mince pies in
the McCaughey hall afterwards!
Sunday 25 December 10.30 am: Christmas Morning Family Service (No evening service)
“I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a
Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11. This short, family-friendly
service is a wonderful opportunity to start your Christmas Day by celebrating Jesus’ birthday together.
Come and join the celebration!
Sunday 1 January 10.30 am: New Year Morning Worship
We gather together on the first day of the new year to thank God for 2016 and to commit 2017 to Him.
Stuart will lead this service and Norman will be bringing us God’s Word.
Sunday 1 January 6.30 pm - no service
