What’s coming up at Christmas

Please continue to join us at our 9.30 am & 11.30 am services as we celebrate the season of Advent on Sunday 2, 9, 16 and 23 December. Each week, as we countdown to Christmas Day, an Advent candle will be lit and one of our Advent boxes will be opened.

Wednesday 5 December 7 pm: English Language Classes Carol Service

Everyone is invited to come along and share in this special service of readings and carols with our friends who speak English as a secondary language. Refreshments will be served afterwards.


Saturday 8 December 12.30pm: The Beacon Community Christmas Dinner

A time for senior citizens to share a meal, catch up with old friends, make new friends, have fun and enjoy time together at Christmas.


Sunday 9 December 6.30 pm: Family & Community Carol Service

Get your Christmas jumpers on and join us for this family-friendly service as we explore the Christmas story with songs, readings and stories. We are delighted to welcome back the choirs from Dunclug and St Brigid’s Primary Schools who will be singing during the service. Supper will be served.


Friday 14 December 6.30 – 10.00pm: The Movement & SMMR FEST present- A NEON CHRISTMAS!

Come swagged out in white or neon and bring your mates, ready for a night of worship, words, prizes, plus an absolutely lit UV Rave! You don’t want to miss it!


Sunday 16 December: Christmas Sanctuary (Reflective Prayer and Worship)

Join us for this special evening of prayer and worship as we take time out in the busyness of the Christmas season to reflect on the heart of Christmas.


Thursday 20 December 8pm: Hope House Carol Service

Join us in Hope House (7 Alexander Park) as we retell the Christmas story with familiar carols and readings.


Sunday 23 December 6.30 pm: High Kirk Carol Service

We gather as a church family to celebrate the birth of Jesus with familiar readings and songs. Our special Christmas choir will be leading us in worship. Remember to stay after and enjoy some mince pies!


Tuesday 25 December 10.30 am: Christmas Morning Family Service

“I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11. This short, family-friendly service is a wonderful opportunity to start your Christmas Day by celebrating Jesus’ birthday together – Come and join the celebration!


Sunday 30 December 10.30 am: Morning Worship Service (no evening service)

We gather at the end of the year to thank God for 2018 and to commit 2019 to Him.


Saturday 5 January: Day of Prayer

The prayer room will set up and opened for New Year prayer and recommitment. Sign up for a 1-hour slot at the information desk and come pray.


Sunday 6 January 9.30 & 11.30 am: New Year Recommitment & Communion Services

If you haven’t been at church in a while, why not come and join us on the first Sunday of this New Year. “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act.” Psalm 37:5

What’s coming up at Christmas

Please continue to join us at our 9.30 am & 11.30 am services as we celebrate the season of Advent on Sunday 3, 10 and 17 December. On Sunday 24 December we will have a combined morning service at 10.30am. Each week, in preparation for Christmas, we will light another one of our special Advent candles and will also open one of our Advent boxes.

We are also looking forward to welcoming back the choirs from Dunclug and St Brigid’s Primary Schools. Please stay and join us for supper afterwards in the McCaughey Hall.

Andrew and our young people will lead this special service of Christmas praise, prayer and stories.

Christmas Eve Evening at 6.30pm: Christmas Sanctuary (Prayer and Worship).

Norman and Stuart will lead a special evening of reflective prayer and peaceful worship on Christmas Eve as we take time out in the busyness of the Christmas season to reflect on the heart of Christmas.

We gather together on the last day of 2017 to thank God for the year that has passed and to commit 2018 to Him. Stuart will lead this service and Norman will bring us God’s Word. [N.B. there will be no evening service on 31 December]


Sunday 7 January 6.30 pm: New Year Communion

We begin our new year by celebrating Communion together. This service is a good opportunity for all of us to recommit ourselves to the Lord for 2018. “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act.” Psalm 37:5 (ESV)

Easter 2017

PRAYER FOCUS IN HOLY WEEK

The prayer room will be open from 8am to midnight each day from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th April and from 8am to 6pm on Good Friday (14th).

Please sign up for a prayer slot as individuals or as a Laser Group. This is one of the best weeks in our church calendar – please become part of it.

Prayer changes things.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE 8PM

This is a lovely service of meditative praise, a sermon based on the events of the first Good Friday followed by the celebration of Communion.

EASTER SUNDAY 16TH APRIL

10.30am We have one united Easter morning service of celebration led by the choir as we explore the theme of Hope this Easter.

The children will have a separate programme from the start and will join us for our closing hymn.

6.30pm The young people will finish this Resurrection Day by leading us in worship and reflection on what Easter means.
