Where men can bring their requests to God on all subjects.

Open Space

For the entire congregation

First Sunday in the month, from 6:30pm

Open space is where you can be free to worship and listen to God, where we spend time in God’s presence, worshiping Him, having opportunities of hearing testimonies of how God is moving and be blessed by prayer.

A relaxed, warm and friendly environment, where people are challenged and free to discuss the word of God.

The Life Centre incorporating Bob’s Store

For all members of church and community who need ‘cost of living’ and other personal support

Tuesday, 10am to 12 noon.
Thursday, 10am to 12 noon.
The Life Centre, High Kirk Church.

Provides foodstuffs (‘Bags of Blessings’) and fuel poverty support to all; also provides support to those with personal issues

Homework Club

For local Primary school children, from P3 upwards

Wednesday, 3pm to 5pm.
High Kirk Church.

To provide assistance to children re homework; also, where children enjoy fun – craft-making, cooking, playing sports, etc.

Overseas Mission
Janice Colgan – Associate for One Mission

Supporting our full-time missionaries in India, Cambodia, Scotland, South of Ireland and Nigeria.

Encouraging and supporting our youth and adult church membership on short term mission trips.

Partnering with other missionary agencies.

Bowling Fellowship

For men and women of all ages
Monday, 2pm to 4pm and / or Monday, 7pm to 9pm.
The McCaughey Hall, High Kirk Church.

Where men and women enjoy competitive games but also, encourage each other pastorally and spiritually.
(Some Monday evenings, teams comprising church members participate in games within Church League)

PW (Presbyterian Women)

For all women of the congregation irrespective of age.
First Tuesday of the month, 7pm to 9pm (usually Sept – March)

Kinship Care Group

For anyone who is acting guardian for relative’s’ children
Second Thursday of the month, 10:30am to 12 noon

Where support is provided for those who are acting guardians for relatives’ children.

Marriage Preparation

Couples within the Ballymena Presbytery area, prior to their marriage
November, 7:30pm to 9pm (3 evenings each Nov)

Course designed around Christian principles to assist couples preparing to marry.

Sunday Mornings


Babies and toddlers up to 3 yrs old.
9:30am (staffed) and 11:30am (not staffed).
Creche Room. Parents can use the Birney Room if needed.
The Service is streamed to both the Creche & The Birney Room.

HK Kids

Primary 2 to Primary 7.
9:30am service.
The McCaughey Hall.
Children can come into the Sanctuary for the first part of the service.

Little HK Kids

Pre-school to Primary 1.
9:30am service.
Playgroup room.
Children can come into the Sanctuary for the first part of the service.

HK Youth

Years 8 to 10.

Where young people learn more about God and to grow closer to each other during 9.30am service.

Sunday Evenings


For Secondary school Years 8 to 14
First Sunday of each month – Life Group
Second and Fourth Sunday of each month, 8:00pm to 9:30pm.

To create an environment for young people to grow in faith and community through worship, Bible teaching, prayer and fun.


Years 12 to 14.
Third Sunday of each month, 8pm to 9:30pm.
The Oasis, High Kirk Church.
Deeper study / discussions of the scriptures for young teenagers



Parent and Toddlers up to age 3 or 4 for High Kirk and non High Kirk folks
Tuesday, 10am to 12noon.

Bible Study

For all Year 6 students
Alternate Wednesday 7:00 to 8:30pm, Sept – June

To improve knowledge of the Bible and to help young people to follow it’s guidance / instructions.

Friday Night Social

Years 8 to 14
Third Friday of each month, time varies depending on location.
Location varies subject to event
Fun and fellowship – ice skating, Ten Pin Bowling, Barbecues, Bible study, Praise Evening, etc.

Saturday Night Social

Years 8 to 12
First Saturday of each month, 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Form of Youth Club where teenagers can meet to play games, enjoy fellowship, etc.

Girls Brigade

Tuesdays (Sept – April):
• Tiny Tots – 3 years old to P1, 6:00pm-7:00pm
• Explorers – P2 to P4, 6:00pm-7:00pm
• Juniors – P5 to P7, 7:00pm-8:30pm
• Seniors – Years 8 to 10, 7:00pm-9:00pm
• Brigadiers – Year 11-14, 7:00pm-9:00pm
Held in various rooms throughout the church, subject to event.
Range of activities including badge work for young girls with aim being to lead young girls to the Lord to find true enrichment of life.

Boys Brigade

Thursdays (Sept – April):
• Anchor Boys – P1 to P4, 6:30pm-7:30pm
• Junior Section – P5 to P7, 7:30pm-9:00pm
• Company Section and Seniors – Years 8 to 14, 7:30pm-9:30pm
Generally in the McCaughey Hall and the Oasis, High Kirk Church
Range of physical and disciplined activities including badge work with spiritual principles to promote obedience, discipline and self-respect in young lives.

Other Youth Events


For 6th years
High Kirk Church
To encourage commitment and character-building and to train young people to become leaders.

Discipleship Teams

Youth groups from within church generally from Year 12 to 14
Summer: usually for 1 - 2 weeks
Various locations within High Kirk Church and then, to Europe or Africa generally
To firstly implement a joint Bible reading plan, prayer and team building and secondly, having completed the ‘discipleship journey’ to go on an overseas mission to use personal gifts for God’s glory. (assist with Summer school teaching, improving facilities, Bible studies, facilitating sports and fun times for children)

Summer Madness

For all Secondary school children (N Ireland wide event)
One weekend usually at end of June
Field in Portglenone
Fun events, scriptural teaching and studies in a camp situation.

Holiday Bible Club

For all Primary and Secondary school children from church or the neighbourhood
Annually in August for 1 week
